What is the Chat Room
There are two groups: the talkers and the listeners. The talkers are the ones who are suffering from mental illness or are experiencing similar symptoms. The listeners are people who act as a shoulder for the talker to lean on and make conversation with them about issues that they are facing.
-
Talkers are matched up with listeners. When the talker wants to chat to someone, they are asked what sort of problem they are facing (ie: parental pressure, school stress, coming out, general depression). Similarly, listeners are asked about what kind of problems they have experienced in the past and the algorithm will match them up to users facing similar problems.
-
At the end of the conversation, the talker can rate the listener based on how good their experience was when discussing their mental health issues with them. Listeners that gain more positive reviews will have a higher chance of getting matched up to new talkers.

Reporting policy works in a 3 strike system. Each strike is a 1 week suspension and 3 strikes means permanent ban
